How to choose a daycare for infant ?
If you’re looking into how to choose a daycare for infant on the internet, I hope this post finds you.
I remember how hard it was to even think about leaving my baby with someone else.
Figuring out daycare can feel like such a big, emotional decision, especially when you’re heading back to work. I’ve been there too, and I know how overwhelming it can be. Here’s what helped me, and I hope it helps you too.
How to choose a daycare for infant?
1) Do your research:

Before anything else, I’d really encourage you to research daycares, even if the one down the street seems affordable and the staff is super nice. It’s always worth taking a little extra time to make sure it’s the right fit for your family.
If I had to start looking for a daycare for my little one, honestly, the first thing I’d do is hop on Google and Facebook and start searching for places close to home. I’d read through all the reviews from other parents (because who knows better than moms who’ve been there, right?).
I’d also scroll through Facebook to see how to choose a daycare for infant and what people are actually saying about each daycare. And if they have a website, I’d definitely check it out to get a feel for their vibe and see what their policies are like. Choosing a quality daycare is important.
2) Meeting and visit:

When you visit a daycare, don’t be shy about asking all your questions. I know it can feel a little awkward, but you deserve to know everything you need to feel good about your choice.
Ask about how many kids each adult is caring for, since fewer kids per grown-up usually means more attention for your little one. As you walk around, look for things like secure doors, good supervision, clear emergency plans, and just how clean everything feels.
And just a heads up, a higher price tag doesn’t always mean better care. If you can, try to visit a couple different centers so you can compare and see what feels right for your family.

3) Staying connected:

Staying connected with your little one during the day can make such a difference, especially when you’re missing them like crazy. Some daycare centers now send updates and photos through WhatsApp or Messenger, which I absolutely love. If you’re touring places, definitely ask if they do this. It’s so reassuring to see what your child is up to while you’re apart.
Also, just a heads up if a daycare doesn’t let you drop in whenever you want or pick up your child whenever you need to, that’s a big warning sign. I know it sounds wild, but yes, there really are places that won’t let you pick up your own child before a certain time. Always trust your gut on this one, mama.
4) Their choice of activities:

Before you even set foot in a daycare center, I always recommend doing a little online digging first. Search for the center’s name and see what kinds of activities they share. Take a look at their photos, if they have any. Every daycare is a little different, so it helps to see if the kids get outside, do fun learning activities, and have plenty of time to just play.
Some places even take the kids to splash in a wading pool when it’s hot out, while others might not. Only you know what feels right for your little one, so trust your gut as you look around.
5) Relationship with the staff:

One thing I always pay close attention to is how the staff communicates. Do they make you feel comfortable asking questions, and are they willing to share what you need to know? I also like to watch the kids during the visit. Do they seem relaxed and happy, or a little on edge? And how do the teachers handle things do they seem patient and kind? These little moments can tell you so much about what your child’s day might feel like.
6) Food choice and allergies:

Let’s talk about food, because I know how much we all worry about what our kids are eating when we’re not there. Ask what kind of meals they serve and don’t be shy about bringing up any allergies or special needs your child has. A good daycare director should walk you through all of this at your first meeting, but it never hurts to double-check. I’ve heard stories from other moms where kids with allergies were accidentally given the wrong meals, so it’s always worth making sure you feel comfortable with their plan.
