7 Simple & fun indoors activities for kids to keep them busy

Winter Time
Winter time is almost here, I used to surf the internet to discover ideas to amuse my son. During the cold weather, it’s impossible to go to the park ( In Canada), so if you need 7 quick and fun indoor activities. I got you! Plus, the things I’m using came from Dollar Tree. Kids like simplicity 🙂
Essential Indoor Winter Activities:
These are perfect for developing skills and creating memories during the colder months.
Simple winter activities for toddlers:
1- Winter Sensory Play :
A classic one! You can always create fake snow to stimulate their curiosity and have fun with them. All the items I’ve listed here are available at the dollar store. To do this, you’ll need the following items:
- A bucket
- Shaving cream
- Baking soda
- Toys
- Cookie cutters

Preparation: Mix baking soda with shaving cream to make malleable snow. You can give him his toys or cookie cutters to play with.
2- Winter sensory bag :

Everyone knows the sensory bag; it’s easy to make and fun for your child to play with. You will use this technique to create a winter sensory bag this time.
You’ll need:
- Ziploc bag
- Hair gel
- Pompoms
- Colored glitter glue ( any colour)
Preparation: Mix the hair gel, pompoms, and glitter glue in the ziploc bag and seal it. Then, give it to your toddler to squish it 🙂
3- Bubble snow foam:
You will need
1- Dishwashing detergent
2- Warm water
3- Corn flour
Preparation:
Mix everything together and set aside in a bucket.
You can leave it with your toddler so he can shape the fake snow with his hands. Hours of fun!
4- Snowman craft:

A straightforward project I love is the sticky snowman. I cut snowman shapes from contact paper and let my toddler stick cotton balls, buttons, and paper shapes to create their frosty friend.
You’ll need:
- Colorful paper
- A pen to draw a snowman first
- Pair of scissors
- cotton balls
- Pompoms
- Buttons
- Glue
- Tree branches or cotton stems
Preparation:
5) Christmas Tree:

You will need:
- Colored paper
- Polka dots stickers
- glue
- your imagination
- Cissors
Instructions :
Cut out simple shapes from the colored papers to create the pieces of a christmas tree ( Prepare it in d’avance). Then give the shapes to your toddler and let them assemble and decorate their own little tree using the stickers and glue.
6- ❄️Snowflakes Sticker:
You will need:
- Blue paper
- White or silver stickers
- Glue ( optional)
Let your toddler place the stickers on the blue paper to create “snowflakes”. You can help them glue them to make a snowflake craft.
7- 🥶 Toilet Paper Roll Snowman:
You will need :

- Toilet roll
- White paint
- googly eyes
- small accessories to make snowmen
- glue
You will need to paint the toilet roll white, let it dry and then dab a little bit on the googly eyes. Let your toddler paint with you and place the eyes on the Toilet roll.
Take the accessories of your Choice like pom-pom or colored sticks, to decorate the snowman.
